Research and  Prototyping

First of all, I decided to search for the right idea.
Looking for references would be the most logical solution, but I decided to use only myself and my acting on camera as references.

But before that, I decided to try to make a storyboard so that I knew exactly what I should shoot on camera.
And here I got stuck for quite a long time... the problem is that I started to make a storyboard, and literally four frames later, I didn't like it at all. It seemed dull and quite ordinary. As if these are the very first ideas of how it would be possible to animate a character saying a similar phrase.

There were at least four storyboards, but only 2 of them survived, and I tried to turn the other two into an animatic in the hope that if I drew with sound in the background, it would be much easier for me to come up with poses and think over the behaviour of the character.

The result is simple, and I did not like any of this.
I started recording everything I managed to draw on the storyboards, but it didn't work out well either.

I was looking for the right idea to implement for too long, trying to choose the right one. That was a huge loss of time which I could spend creating the second animation for Anim Challenge.

From this, in the angriest and most desperate state, unexpectedly, I finally realized what I wanted to draw for this entry.

The idea is simple. Initially, I wanted to make a character that would talk to themself, and all his words would turn into a monologue with themself. The record is pretty supportive and worming. What if the character is talking to themself? The meaning will change.

A similar situation where a character would say such things to themself would clearly describe them as selfish and rather еgocentric, but at the same time, an insecure person. As well as the fact that most likely the character speaks calmly at the moment, they is still not relatively stable psychologically since they need to give themself support and since they also question the reality in which they are at the moment.

So there will be a lot of gesticulation in their movements. All of it should, in one way or another, reveal all the qualities I described in character.

And since I didn't have much time, I decided not to focus on his design and face, as I originally wanted to show the character through his actions, not emotions or appearance.

After that, I only had to add more frames and make the animation smoother.
It was still not quite smooth at some points, but only because I spent more time cleaning up the extra lines. To make it clearer when viewing how the character moves without different objects overlapping on top of each other.
