Character Development
Character Bible
Logline: A scientist who studied parallel realities built a portal there and get there. However, upon returning to our world, he was connected by teleportation error with a creature from the 4D world. And now they have to coexist together and continue to live somehow.
Before creating the character, I decided to start with the most basic creation of the mood board.
In the concept itself, I initially wanted a character that would include not one personality but two at once. After all, coexisting personalities interact with each other all the time, often raising questions that a person may not even think about, such as the presence of personal space and its violation, a sharp change in the pace of life, cohabitation with new people, etc.
So the first thing I did was start putting in all sorts of pictures for the mood board.
The main character is a scientist who, outside of his main job, is highly interested in getting into parallel worlds. And the first place that he would like to visit, and the existence of which is known to science, is the 4th dimension.
That's where his second side comes from.
A being that existed in the fourth dimension, a place that is inaccessible to the human eye most of the time.
Their world is similar to ours but still different, due to the presence of 4 sides of the dimension (w), in addition to the basic "x", "y" and "z" familiar to us.
There are two theories of what this "w" can be. Some scientists say that this is time itself, and beings from this dimension can change their age as they wish. However, based on a more mathematical view of the question, "w" is the axis of moving inward and outward. And that's what I plan to set the second part of my character.
Subsequently, I edited my mood board to display the character more clearly.
On the left, everything “had to do with the scientist”, the centre became the place where I collected all possible references with two-faced characters, and the left side became the inspiration for the 4D character.
This was the very first sketch of the character. I tried to refer more to the form of Venom when creating the second part of the character. And at the same time, repeating my main mistake, the hairstyles of my characters are very often very similar.
These were the very first sketches; later, the only thing left was a small horn, which would later remain on the final design.
After that, I made a second attempt at character creation. And more successful, primarily because I thought a little more about the character before trying to draw it.
From the start, I knew for sure that I needed a light hair colour to contrast very strongly with the 4-dimensional part. I chose a rather pleasant and warm peach shade since it is something between yellow and pink, thus collecting the symbols of both of these shades. Giving the viewer understanding that the character is not dangerous, kind and cheerful. His blue eyes represent his calm and rational nature, reflecting his light blue scientist's coat. The rest of the character is dominated by warm tones, even if they are close to black.
The black colour of a 4-dimensional being represents a danger, something the viewer will involuntarily shun.
However, at the same time, its iridescent particles, in which green, yellow and blue hues predominate, also carry with them what, although for the most part, the creature is calm but extremely playful and sometimes toxic in its behaviour.
The green colour also refers us to the future fate of the protagonist because green usually represents death, which awaits our scientist at the end of his journey.

Human name: Idris
4D name: [unknown] Idris calls it Hinu (Translates “oil” from Maori language)
Human sex: Male
4D sex: [unknown]
Human age: 32
4D age: [unknown]
He is a combination of a Human and a 4-dimensional creature from a parallel reality.
Originally Idris from Finland, but now lives in Boston, USA.
Human personality: calm, forgetful, cheerful, obstinate, tough, intelligent, introverted.
4D personality: joyful, impertinent, rational, arrogant, eccentric, sincere, intelligent but simple-minded
Human interests: travelling, cooking and parallel reality
4D interests: human world and the way they live
Human likes: learn something new, synthwave music, dogs, mount skiing, meat and energy drinks
4D likes: beatbox music, cows (but don’t like the name of this animal), making jokes on Idris, do not tell important information when it's needed.
